• Registration & Accounts •
Agreement: Roleplaying on Swords of Infinity means that you agree that you understand our rules. The staff reserves the right to discipline anyone found breaking the rules. If you feel that you have been treated unfairly in a decision made by staff, please to bring it up privately. We are humans that make mistakes and we will hear you out, that doesn't guarantee you will be found in the right. If you cannot or will not follow our rules, you'll be asked to leave.
You may only use one character per account to Role-play. If you wish to hold multiple characters, you must make an account for each. Every character must have their own bank, and you may not distribute money between them.
Once you have registered, please change your username to your character name. To do this, go into the "Edit Profile" link in the top right of your user profile and find the "Personal" tab.

• General Rules •
Do not swear excessively. This counts both IC and OOC--neither you or your character should be littering the forum with F-bombs. Some profanity is expected but as a general rule, keep things in the PG-13 ballpark.
Do NOT flame, bash or disrespect other members, especially on the basis of their race, religion, sexuality or gender/gender identity. Discriminatory and offensive behavior will not be tolerated here.
Be friendly. Don't bite at the newcomers or guests!
Keep adult content off the forum--excessive violence and pornographic content both count! If you really want to play these situations then fade to black on the forum, continue the action through another venue such as E-mail.
Don't be stupid. Use your good judgement and common sense when interacting with others. Don't spam, harass others, or disrespect the staff or members.

• Chat Box •
We have provided a C-Box for you to discuss OOC matters and have leisurely chats in a timely manner. It's not for role-play of any kind.
Do not spam of flood the cbox--spamming is defined as posting irrelevant links or links to other sites in the cbox with the express purpose of promotion. Flooding is defined as repeatedly posting a single (or a few) links or irrelevant messages in rapid succession.
The C-Box is meant to be an informal venue for discussion. It's where you can use some chatspeak and generally joke around. It's a place to chill out and discuss what's going on, ask us questions and bounce ideas around.
Tag your NSFW (Not Safe For Work) as such in the post it shows up in or the one right after.
As per usual, respect other members. Don't flame or harass others, don't trash talk other people's characters, and in general save the fighting for IC.
We have some custom box codes! Click to see what they are:

• Role-playing •
Remain IC as much as you can. Make sure that your OOC notes are visibly separate from your IC post. Using brackets, braces, a new text color, or a 'OOC:' label are all good options.
When you RP, there is not a set in stone minimum for posts, but try for 200 or so words. One line posts and script-style posts are not allowed.
Give due attention to the other participants in the thread unless your character has a reason for ignoring them. Even your shyest and angstiest characters need to try to engage someone rather than ignoring everyone to sulk in a corner. Don't be that guy.
Strive for clarity and quality over word count. Try to run things through spellcheck, and avoid "1337" speak and chatspeak in your RPing. Please only roleplay in English.
If you use a posting template or custom profile template, make sure the text of your post or profile is at least 10px in size (font size 2 in the forum's weird and awful text sizing rules) and avoid cursive and overly decorative fonts (regular serif fonts are ok, and decorative fonts are fine for some lyrics at the bottom of your template or the like). Be sure your background and text contrast well enough that they may be easily read. Sticking to web safe fonts is advised but not necessary.
PvP is a game. Play fairly. Fair play rules can be found here, and applying for a character affirms that you agree to abide by the rules stated there as well.
